Get some Arctic Silver MX-2 (http://www.petrastechshop.com/arcomxthco.html), it's AC's new thermal stuff, way better than AS5.

BTW, :welcome: to the XS forum!

yeah thats what i saw but there are mixed reviews, so wasn't sure which one is better. I saw some review indicate mx2 is same as AS5, some better. then there is tuniq, diamond stuff

Coolaboratory Liquid Pro isn't for everyone, I pretty much relap my IHS and block every time I remount to remove it, but it works really well.

Here was my AS5 vs Coolaboratory review:

I really havn't tried many other compounds though.

yep read those, its a bit outdated, doesn't have the tuniq or the diamond stuff or mx2. although it has the mx1. prefer not using the liquid metal stuff, kind danger:eek:

Yeah I just noticed that Diamond stuff at Petra's the other day, curious to see how it stacks up.

CLP is definately more work. Not really a big deal since I had already lapped my IHS, but I'd be a bit shocked if I hadn't and couldn't get it off otherwise. I also wouldn't use it on anything but an IHS personally...kind of hard to lap the memory on my 8800..:D
