Just wondering could a system even turn on without memory say with a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L board?

no, you need memory, motherboard, cpu and psu to boot and then a HDD to get into windows.

if ur on amd i know that the 939 boots with no ram but only to the bios, intel i dont think will

My Asus (AMD) boots without memory (of course no into windows)

Never seen a system capable of producing a POST screen without memory installed...

I mean my a8n sli powers up but makes a lot of noise O0

My guess is some systems just simply won't turn on.
