u can sli a gtx and ultra it will just down clock to the gtx

but look at getting a good p35 or p45 chipset (those are out in 2-3weeks) and get a liquid cooling system, then get the g100 when its out in march

Seriously, you should sit on the money for now. In a few months, you'll have reasonably-priced 45nm processors and next-generation GPU's to play with. For now, the price on Ultra's is highway robbery and there's no better single-card solution.

If you're determined to spend some cash, are you still air cooling? For $400-500, you could piece together a good liquid system, possibly giving yourself more overclocking headroom, and do it without cut corners anywhere.

Im on water I have a Thermaltake LCS with built in rad... I have a hr-03 on the ultra yet it still overclocks poorly... i can barely get 700 core

that not liquid cooling thats a joke, thats got a mix of aluminum and copper and it only got 200W or less of cooling a TRUE 120 would be better

You have no reason to upgrade. Wait a few months. There are all kinds of cool toys right in front of us.

are you a heavy gamer or just for OC purposes? a lot of new items are coming out early next year, you could wait for them... or is it that "upgrade-itch" uncontrollable? :D

i know the feeling of feeling bad without buying new hw..

anyway... you got a Q6600, a 8800 Ultra...2 GB Ram...1,5 TB in hdd's...

you could go for a new mainboad, but intel will release a new chipset shortly (p45) so getting a p35 board now wouldnt be the first choice.

i'd say trash the thermaltake watercooling and get a decent watercooling instead.

theres lots of cool stuff for you to do.. first id get a good raptor raid0 setup, that will cost you most of what you have

if you dont want to you can always get good watercooling setup and a case

just dont get graphics card waterblock yet as youll be upgrading that

i would get,
2x raptors for raid0
xfi xtreme music
new headphones/mic?
thermalright ultra 120 extreme and other air cooling stuff and grab cm690
and i would sell my watercooling setup with case

Frankly speaking I think your present parts are quite good, you can just wait later for the upgrade.

If I were you I'd buy another kit of RAM and get to 4GB before I'd buy a new video card.
