Is there such a thing? Are they selling them anywhere? I am wondering because maybe you could use them for corrosion-stopping purposes...
Is this maybe an idea that could work?
They sell them at Tiffany & Company. If you are willing to pay, Van Cleef & Arpels can tack on a couple of diamonds. You can buy those at Harry Winston.
Just kidding rofl.. Pure sterling silver barbs? lol

So is it an idea not even worth considering?

You wouldn't need biocides anymore

Yeah, there are a FEW silver-plated barbs.

Check the specs on that.

There really is no point, the plating on them now may start to corrode after.. hmm 10 years :)
and biocide isnt for stopping corrosion at all, its for stopping algae (sp?) :)

And silver will stop algae right in its tracks. He still has a point.

Ah silver finish and silver plated are not the same thing...
You would be better off just dropping a hunk of silver into your reservoir. Alternatively, why not a silver block?

I agree with Vampire Hunter. Silverplated blocks would fit the bill too.
I agree there's a diference, but if you look closely, it does appear they are actually silverplated. There's a real color difference between silver and nickel/chrome plating to the eye that's used to it.

On Topic, tygon has silver antimicrob tubing. Just use that instead. Its cheaper and just as effective.

It's certainly effective in certain circumstances. If you want clear tubing, however, the other provided alternatives will work.
It's also effective as runs in hidden places. I may be trying it in my next build in the places you won't see...

I use about 2 feet of it in my main build. Hidden. Its nice, and you dont need to worry about additives.
But guys you also are aware copper itself is an antimicrobe. IE pt nuke is copper sulfate.
You really dont need it unless your rig see's lots of sunlight, or your running CCFL.

Just squeeze some AS5 in your loop :)
[XC] Kayin

Copper sulfate is an excellent biocide, but it would not form normally in a loop.
Silver however is a far better biocide, and as such it's starting to see more use.

Yeah also has a better thermal conductivity. Also is one of the top luxuries in h2o cooling.
So the more reason why i should take my Silver TDX out of retirement and use it as a NB block.

I thought about buying some silver plate to make a block and couldn't find it anywhere...not even 1/8" bar stock, so I'd have a hard time thinking anyone would make 5/8" hex bar...:D
I'd be carefully collecting the lathe shavings...lol
Silver Tygon as previously mentioned would be the way to go for biocide.

Hehe, not long before I have my G7 in hand. That will stay in my loop no matter the performance.

I think that's a case of poor translation to English from Taiwanese or Chinese. That just looks like satin nickel plating to me.

You may be right Waterlogged. Without having one here, I can't test it for sure.
Martin, have something headed to your PM box.

Yes, but those 1/2" compression fittings look interesting!
1/8" wall thickness. Thats a compression fitting for half inch Tygon at last.
Bitpower fitting. (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=153&products_id=22626)

Yeah, but is there even a barb to catch hold of the tubing on those? Doesn't look like it in that pic.
I picked up a pair of these (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=153&products_id=22957) from FCPU on Sat and quickly found that only short thread fittings will work with them, so be aware of that if your looking at using them.

Yes, you're right. Their pic only shows one thread below the o-ring!
The classy way to do this is to have one of these in each reservoir.

I'm sure you or a family member has an old piece of silver jewelry lying around collecting dust.... Throw it in your reservoir. Not like it's gonna rust...
