take a look at my signature first of all..
i did some work for someone and he wants to pay me in hardware.
now what should i get?

i definatly want a new video card. i am looking at the EVGA 8800GTS 512MB G92. but that is only about $350.

does anyone have any other suggestions on what else to get? even if it will go over the budget?

hold on to your money for either the 3870x2 or 9800gtx, both are coming out soon and should be quite stronger. I suppose you could just hold on to the remaining cash, you could put it towards a nehalem rig (which honestly isn't a bad idea to save all $600 as you'll need a new motherboard a ddr3 ram except your gts is fairly old)

Intel nehalem Q2 08
NVIDIA G98 just in time to build a new Rig :)

haha i dont want any of that yet. i will want the 9800 but i am hoping to get a card now and use the evga step up program.

my friend just asked, hey, where's ur soundcard?
i forgot about the auzentech x-fi prelude. i wanted one of those but it will only fit in my case if i remove a fan from my radiator which is mounted on the top(inside) of my case.

But I don't seem to know any video card that is over $600. Maybe you can have other parts upgrade also.

i'd just take cash and save it for something else in your case.

in my case, i would get a X38 mobo and a Q6600 or save it for one of the newer quad cores.
