Anyone every tried stripping a MCW60, ditching the base and swapping it for a base from the Apogee GT ? And then put nozzles into the MCW60 lol I wonder if it'll yield any tangible benefits.

Isn't the Apogee GT base bigger than the MCW-60?

Not really.

The Apogee 1U block is meant for S775 Intel server mobos, but fits perfectly as a substitute for the MCW60. It has the Apogee classic base. The Apogee GT/GTX cpu blocks have bases which are the same exact size as the Apogee Classic.

I would think that a MCW60 and a Apogee 1U can be switched with an Apogee GT base and used on a video card. It should be a drop in replacement.

Here are links showing Philly Boy using Apogee 1Us on 8800GTXes.

In fact, another idea is to use the Apogee Drive GT base and MCP350 pump directly on a gpu, but that idea was shot down by a tech expert at Swiftech.

i believe nikhsub did, and he said it yielded better temps. However its not worth going out and buying a GT and swapping the MCW60 base tho. And Yes it will fit.

But iany, honestly why would you care if your gpu's fire up to 50's instead of 40's.

Its not like its going to help you overclock it any better, unless you intend to mess with resistors and volt mod.
