View Full Version : Need to mod my case to fit my rad, but I need a certain power cord. Help Please!
Ok, so I'm going to get the MCR320 rad for my build, but I can't fit it up top of the case because the power supply is in the way. So I'm going to mod the case and put the power supply down at the bottom front of the case.
Heres my case and where I want to put the PSU:

But I need a power cord for the power supply that's right angled and has a female connection at the end. Like the cable that the Lian-Li A05 comes with:

Do you know where I could get one of these cables?
Thanks!
P.s. I know this is kinda the wrong place to be asking this question, sorry .

What power supply are you referring to? The MAIN psu, or another?
I ask, because those of us with RD-30 water pumps, some of us made our own power cable, or cannibalized a cord from another piece of hardware.
The main PSU.
Ya know, the box with all the cords coming out of it, or it could be modular.
I'm going to get one from Thermaltake.

ask and yee shall receive :http://quail.com/seriesPage.cfm?seriesID=101
Thanks Jimmy, but thats half of what I need.
The one there has the male right angle on it but on the other end it needs to be female like the second picture of the lian-li above has.
Edit:
Actually, I think that will work. I could just coil the rest of the power cord up on the back of the case when I take it places.
Big thanks Jimmy!!

Ok, I'll give it a try as soon as I can.
Have you ordered from quail before? (are they... trustworthy? :p:)

Maybe ask around the forums if someone has an extra one lying around (long shot)...

Just the CPU for now, but I may add the GPU later.
Ok, sounds like a plan to me :)

smee not a good location for the hot air is going back in the case to your HDD. MCR220 would be better fit proforumance
Ugh, your right!
What if I had an 80mm fan pulling air out through the front from the psu?

If you plan on going ahead with the PSU up front, I may have a slightly better solution.
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ty10corfifi.html for mounting to the back.
http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat%5Fid=914&sku=03152 for the rest of the cable.
Keep in mind this offering does involve some cutting, soldering, heat shrinking but will look closest to a factory setup.

very nice parts waterlogged, one that doesnt involved cannibalizing old useless PSU...
good luck on this Smee...
Wow, thanks waterlogged! I think I might just order those two parts! They'll work great
Septim,
