build advice

Im slowly building a C2D system, so far I got is a Stacker 830, WD 500 HD Silvestone SST-ST60F modular PSU and soon a DVD-ROM.
this I bought initially coz I can only buy them piece by piece on my budget.

I could not buy a memory---since I dont have anything to test them if they are working or not...

I know I have to buy mobo, cpu, memory at same time...since one need the other to find if any of tthem have defect.

but my problem is in the memory, the prices now are well in my budget but no system to test them.
so my question is, are the prices on the C2D system ever going to go up like on the 939 mobo system?
I have a 939 and the DDR prices seems to get higher everytime Im considering to add more modules.

Ill be going with air cooling so a cpu heatsink is next on the purchase list and maybe do some lapping since I just read about it. Ive never lapped before maybe now is the time to try.

the mobo I'm considering (in my budget) is the EVGA 122-CK-NF67
not sold on going Vista.:rolleyes:
please advice on purchasing priorities on ppl with very tight budget.

Prices might start to go up on these parts, but not for a while. The prices start to rise once the parts aren't manufactured anymore, and if there's still demand, some retailers inflate the prices. This isn't always true, though.
