Ok so this is what i started off with:
http://www.build.com.my/images/products/brand/asus/vga/Nvidia/v9180se_l.jpeg
It loked just like this only red. with a little black passive heat sink on it.
now, what i was thinking was about my 7900GTX, it's water cooled but what i never did was put anything on the memory to cool it down. the stock 7900GTX heatpipe cooler cooled them but now i have nothing.
Because i have no cooling on them I have been too scared to overclock it =/ *clucks and flaps his wings* so i was about to get some zlaman ramsinks then i sudenly had an idea.
I looked in my big box of heatsinks and found a multitude of socket A heat sinks with little 50mm fans ^_^ so cute!
Anyway, took a hacksaw too the sinks and made this:

I've ordered some thermal adhesive tape but for now i've just used home made wire brackets and cheap thermal computed to keep them in place. (made from stainless steel welding wire).
I'm going to be testing this badboy tomorrow and i'm just wondering, if i unlock all the pipelines/shaders with ntune and crank up the GPU and memory clocks, what sort of speeds should i be getting?
also, highend boards of this type had a power supply from the PSU didnt they? will this thing just run out of juice once i get any good clocks out of it?
Also, for a future project i've recently aquired an x700, i have no idea how to clock an ATI card as i've never used one before but i'm willing to give it a go.
I like the look of what i have planed for it, cant get it running though until the thermal tape gets here.
