Well, I just recently got an NF7-S v2.0. I havent been having much luck with lately, but today I just went all out and tried everything.... and ended up with a speed a could only have dreamed of before. 2.5ghz all on air! I havent even done any vmods to my board..

http://www.nvrt.org/images/random/overclock.jpg

I couldnt believe it. You can see there that my temp is 45, but that wasnt really full load. full load it rises to 49 degrees. My settings were 217x11.5, 1.85vcore, 2.9vdimm, and 11-3-3-cas2, with bios 17. I finally broke 14k in 3dMark2k1 with my Ti4200 too. 1.85 vcore aint that bad.. its not gonna fry my chip any time soon. and as for 2.9vdimm, some guys in other forums say their twinmos runs at 3.06v 24/7. so I think its all good.

I ran prime95 overnight to test stability, and didnt get an error.

Anyways, just letting u guys know... Let me know your thoughts or if u got any tips that would let me go higher.

Very NICE!!! Is that your max FSB?

thanks xtreme!

umm, my max fsb is 220. maybe 225. but dont forget I have done any vdmods or anythong yet. Im thinking about doing some soon thoug..

Very nice O/C man...You should be breaking 14k easily with yer 4200 bro. I get close to 15k with mine.

I just got a new 2500+ and it hit 2.5GHz outta the box without a burn in...so who knows how far she will go.

BTW....I hate you people with yer fast ass 1700+ cpus..lol. :hehe:

thanks hell fire. nice overclock to u too!

yea, Im going to try to break 14k! lol that will be hard.

*is that pic in your background one of your motherboard?

Hell-Fire

Yeh, thats my board...if ya want...I can show you the pic without the other stuff in the way.

You should easily break 14k bud..I have 15k so far and still moving up.

yea but heres the thing, my leadtek doesnt like to overclock. have added any agp frequency or anything that helps u overclock?

it wont even do 305/5xx in 3dMark. got any ideas?

I removed the stock sinks and added ones I put together..that helped since the stock ones made very poor ocntact.

I can hit 305/630..but I actually bench at 290-295 on the Core and 590-595 on the Memory. The higher I go over those numbers, the lower my score goes. I think its heat related.

I leave the AGP locked at 66mhz. Even if you can complete a 3DMark run at a very high O/C, that doesnt mean that its efficient.

*Have you tried something like 11 x 215..or around that?
*Did you adjust everything you could under "Properties" for you vid card to make it run as fast as possible when benching?
*What program are ya using to overclock your card at?
*Make your ram timings 2-2-2-6 or 2-2-2-5 if your ram can handle that at 210-215 fsb.

Check different multi and fsb settings that will put you around 2300-2350MHz on your cpu to get to 14,500Marks or so based on your equipment.

I would stay away from the 10-10.5 multis if possible as they tend to totally suck on NF2 boards.

You said you finally broke 14k on 3DMark..what did ya score?

Also,,,and very important...did you do the trick to make your 1700+ a 2700+/2800+ by default?

I've had my 1700+ to almost 2.6ghz, but of course that was 2.9 vcore, and my temps hit the roof.

2.9 vcore!?!?!?!?! umm no

2.9Vcore...can ya say cpu is now crispy bacon?

LOL..must have been vdimm.

Nice clock, Flying Hamster. :toast: I just put my 1700 back in last night, but it doesn't want to fly yet. :( I had 11x215 (2374MHz.) just fine@1.65v, but it doesn't want to run anything with 1.7v. :( I'm gonna let it run 11x210 awhile, and hope it settles in. ;)

Very nice work m8 :toast:

See if you can go higher! :D

Is it 3D Mark stable? Oddly enough, some of my CPU overclocks will prime 24/7 no prob, but will encounter strange bugs during UT2003 and Raven Shield.

Congrats!

I meant 1.9, doh it's too late.

FlyingHamster

thanks guys.

spaceman- wut ram u got?

maelstorm- it might just be some bug in the games... cuz if your system passes prime95 for 24 hrs.. its ROCK stable..

PS- what do u think would yield better results? 215x11.5 or 213x12?

sandman

213x12

Im not sure if Ive tried 215x11, but I will and let u know how it works.

I use the Coolbits registry hack to overclock.

I heard that 11-2-2-2 is better than 7 and 6-2-2-2 on nforce2 boards. better bandwidth...?

and I was gettin about 13,3xx b4 I got this motherboard, but now Im gettin 14,2xx+. hehe..

I'm using OCZ Basic 3500. I'm pretty sure the 2.9vdimm is holding me back, but if the guys who know their stuff are leery of the vdimm mod, I'll just steer clear of it. ;) I'm gonna try your idea on the timings tho, 11-2-2-2. Sounds nutty enough to work, so I'll try it. :D I've been using 5-3-3-2.

STEvil

if that doesnt work, try 11-2-2-2.5.

Cas latency doesnt have quite as much an effect as it used to.

what bios are you on hamster? try the 16 , it gave me +8mhz in dual channel!

Im using 17 bios. (read my sig) ;)

For the TwinMos sticks I suggest bios 14, beta version would even be better.

Good work FlyingHamster.;)

There you are Racer!

I couldn't have achieved this overclock without the help from Racer. He's a very wise man, lol.

Thanks again Mike.. :D

Looking at your voltages i am amazed, only 2.83V on your mem for 240FSB!!! Wow!!
1.85Vcore for 2.5Gig, another wow! and only 38C, nice.
But isn't 13.07V a bit on the high side?

Dang, Henry, that's pretty sweet! Is that with a Prommie? Also, is there some trick, to be able to run higher vcore? I can't seem to be able to use anything higher than1.65v stable. I tuned up my Geforce3 today. ;) http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=6851975 Hey, wait a minute! What's vnb, is that the same as vdd?

Thanks Zeus :)

This 1700+ DLT3C is amazing, can do 2400Mhz stable with 1.75v only, this cheapo Twinmos PC3200 BH-5 is amazing too :D
My 12v is a little high, i just use Enlight 340w PSU that have potensio for voltages adjustment (inside psu), i "potted" the 5v line to the max, maybee because that my 12v is climbing hehehe :)

Nice score spaceman :)

I just use home made watercooling system.....with a lot of ice in reservoir :D :D My 1700+ DLTC max out at 1.85v (8RDA+), anything beyond 1.85v is no post. And yes, my northbridge voltage is 2.21v (vdd mod) :)

hey guys nice ocs for sure. im running the 8rda+ with a 0309 XP1800 DLT3C @2400mhz 1.75v ocz el-3700 470 fsb 2.88v...
now i have probly gone thru 11 of these cpu's looking for one to run 2500 mhz and not a single one would reach this all of them falling short. right now im eye balling the new 8rda3 mb and a nice new 0310 DLT3C XP1700 :p: i just dont know if im sure i want to go with the 8rda3 though? i mean i LOVE my 8rda+ it has been nothing short of amazing so far! it's just that i keep seeing reports of that abit nforce mb and a few others and im just wanting to make sure i dont miss out? know what i mean? anyone got any sugestions? im going to realy read thru these boards and see what has been said about the diff nforce mb... ok well thx guys...

Welp, I decided to try burning in my chip, to try for better voltage. I'm runnin' at 11x133@1.825v, the highest I could go and still keep F@H running. If I can use that voltage on a higher clock, I hope it lets me clock better. Only .175v more, but you never know. I always set the F@H client to use 100% cpu usage, so that should be good enough.
