I've got an OCZ PSU I would like to modularize. I've seen this done before, and it doesn't look too difficult at all.

I plan on using http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103996&cp=&sr=1&origkw=4+pin+connector&kw=4+pin+connector&parentPage=search
as the connectors. Essentially every set of 4 wires that comes out of the PSU I will hack off and replace with one of these. It should save me a TON of space in the case, as well as allow me to lengthen the cables for better management. I plan on leaving the 20+4 pin alone for now, although I may lengthen it.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm open to virtually idea. Cost & effectiveness trump looks.

yeah i recomend using nice wire like 18 guage copper stranded.

you can buy the pins that go into the connector blocks and instead of crimping them to the wire i would solder them. i know its overkill but it would make for very low voltage drop to the connectors and would be very high quality.

also this site will be 100x cheaper and more usefull than radioshack

i did a mod like this but i acutally just cut off the unneded wires and shorten the atx by a foot it was for a sff system that needed a beefy psu.

also i suggest pics when your working on it :P
