I've been fixing alot of computers lately and have been using both the internet to troubleshoot, and a sytematic aproach where I replace, one by one, the Ram/GPU/PSU etc then see how it goes.

As you could imagine this can take a long time. Does anyone have any suggestions on any Tried and Tested software / hardware to diagnose problems faster and easier?

I've seen motherboard PCI card testers, but I'm a bit scepticle

Cheers!

Memtest/3d mark or ATI:nvidia 3d benching tool/Prime/OCCT.
Checking the psu rails would be useful too.

Then once your sorted, get them crunching :D

Which would be about the only cheap hardware on the list. A good tech always has a decent PSU tester.

you should go to a book store and buy a book about general hardware repair like
a book for the comptia a+ exam
