Need an opinion guys - I'm chuffed to bits, but how good is my oc?

Q6600 @ 4Ghz @ 1.48v

P5K Deluxe, 2GB Team Xtreem 800C3, D-Tek Fuzion/PA120.3/DDCT-01s.

Still going down on voltage, and got to 4.25 but hit a solid FSB wall - will need to investigate further :)

what's the CPU's VID? thanks

More than 4 hours of prime and I will be impressed :)

Definitely guys, this is obviously only quick testing but i'm surprised how high it's gone with so little volts. Testing 4Ghz @ 1.46v now.

It's one of hipro's favourite CPU's - a "00" ;)

VID of 1.25v :D

EDIT: 10 mins of 1.46v - oh and if you were wondering I've already set +15 on Speedfan for the temps. Perfect DI/LN2 chip here xD

where was the FSB wall?
with muti 15 and 284 Mhz ?
Cant believe that....
which settings on fsb wall?

mm take 4250mhz and divide it by 9 so you reach about 472-475FSB... just want to know PLL settings and co... but I doubt this will be durable for 24/7 use...

But nice clocking chip...

I'd like to see a CPU-z + Coretemp screenie next to it..

why do you got a 15x multi with q6600 ??

That's an ORTHOS bug

Sorry for the rushed screenie last night, I really needed to get to bed.

It passed 15mins at 4Ghz 1.46v before i shut it off. I'll try and do some more testing soon, but I'm away for a few days now. Expect something on the 24th and 26th ;)

Batch was something like L733A463 i think, not sure on those last 3 numbers, but definitely a L733Axxx.

If anyone saw hipro's post over here:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=167336
Then his method of identifying a good chip seems to be true.

And yeah, no 15x multi on this :D it was 9x multi and yeah FSB wall was at 470 ish. Any links to quick info would be great :)

that is a very nice oc that you have there :D

what is your bios voltage, and your idle voltage.

1.48v is nice, but how much voltage is going through your cpu when its idling?

Richie P
12-20-2007, 07:34 AM
Something like 1.49v Bios, 1.47v idle 1.46v load.

More info in a few days - so busy at the mo :D

Run 2 instances.

Run 2 instances.

I did run 2 and it DOES NOT stress out the 3rd and 4th core? That is what i am asking, how can i stress out all 4 cores. Is there a way to set it up to stress the 3rd and 4th cores?

I just double checked it before posting this.

you have to set the affinity for the second instance of orthos... go to task manager, processes, find the second orthos and right click on it

ste affinity to the 3rd and 4th cores

Thanks very much, ya think you've seen everything and "violla" you get an education. That is what i love so much about this specific forum, everyone is great, helpfull and not condecending.

THat is a great tip, BAM and I never knew you could specify cores like that

HAve great holiday!

why don't you just use Prime 95.25...

I'll try that one too, there are many ways to skin a cat, I just saw the orthos running 4 cores and wanted to understand. Thus, now i understand how to do that and learned a thing or 2 in the process..

Just though I'd dig my old thread (Richie P is my old handle) .

I picked up a new chip for my friend and as always, they ask me to clock it first and see what it's capable of. ;) This one was bought off Scan.co.uk as an OEM G0.

VID of 1.20V, can't remember batch although something like L74xAxxx. Hipro's ID method = a "20".

3.6Ghz @ 1.35v and still going down... ;)
Probably a bad mount as I was in a rush, but temps were still hitting 60C on my WC Loop. Ambient of about 18C. Methinks a lapping kit is in order

Man I love these chips! :D

Sure, courier only turned up an hour before I had to go to work so it was a rushed job. I'll keep going down on voltage and then do a long test - 4 hours of quad prime gonna keep people happy?

Any requests for settings/tests/etc.?

I'd use Prime 95.25, with that VID that chip should be good for 3.6Ghz <1.3v :)

Use TAT it will stress your CPU much more than anything else.

http://www.cooling-station.net/downloads/systemmonitoring/27/

You will also need to run two instances of the programme to stress 3/4.

I was testing Vista x64 on my rig last week and TAT didn't seem to be compatible...that true?

Looks good. I would like to see a screenshot cpuz and coretemp as well. I am running 24/7 at 3880 mhz on my quad with 11 hr primes. Yours looks like it could be a tad bit better. Lets see some long prime runs. Mine failed at 4-5 hrs when I had vcore a notch to low.
