I ran a loop of 3DMark, then turned off puter to up the fsb a little more, and now all I get is the Splash screen.

It just sits there staring at me. It posts, get bios beep, hard disk flashes few times, even checks floppy, but never moves from that initial splash screen.

I get no warning beeps of any kind. Problem is I have post reporter turned off so I have no idea what the prob may be. I took the cpu to test it and it fired up fine in another machine.

I am totally perplexed. The only thing I changed out was the HSF. It ran fine with it in there, but after reboot,,,,natta thing is happening.

Try running it barebones out of case and make sure cmos is cleared.

Yuck! I hate to take the thing out of the case....man, I will have to remove my VRs and everything.

I removed the battery several times, and reset it with the jumper more times than I care to count.

There isnt a speaker attached to the case...the board has a built in speaker.

and what beep code does it give you? or doesnt it beep at all?

are you sure the bios jumper is in the right place when you power up your system?

try to just shut down the pc, change the jumper to reset position and leave that for 10min, then set it back to normal operation and power your system.

just shut the system down, dont unplug your psu, use the psu power button or anything, just shut it down.

if that doesnt help you prolly killed your bios somehow :(

Well, beats the hell outta me but the thing works fine now.

I tried everything so have no idea what the fix was.

Bad thing is this tho,,,,now it wont do the high fsb it was doing.

It was doing 220 and no errors in memtest86, but now wont even do 215 without throwing errors.

Screw it....I am gonna get rid of this Rev2 and grab a Ultra 400. Although they are supposedly same thing...I am thinking something has to be different of they wouldnt have relased it and just released a bios to get support for the 400fsb cpus that have come out. I checked the NB steppings and they are little different..who knows...maybe that will be my savior and take me away from having to vmod yet another A7N8X!
