Caps are over-rated, have no effect on performance, and even the "crappy" cheap ones last many years.

yeah. I am trying to hang on but the mars is cheap now :D

Do you know whether this DFI mobo would allow you to underclock RAM?

why would you want to under clock ram?, but i guess you could buy changing the divider, like say you had ddr2 667, you could change it to the ddr2 400 divider

all intel chipsets only allow 1:1, if they could go lowwer it would probly have the same problem as the 680i and throw off the sync from the NB to the CPU

Don't these boards not have the vdroop control option?
Isn't waiting for the Lanparty UT version (which does have the vdroop control) a better option?

I wouldn't bother with this board when you can get a lanparty P35 (non-transpiper) for 40 bucks more. It's got all solid caps and 8 phase PWM.

And does the old P35 lanparty reach a fsb of 515 with quad?

Exactly. Both windwithme and Victor Wang achieved great results with the Dark.

Will Dark P35 run R680?

I don't see a prime95 run @ 500+FSB with a quad. Maybe i'm missing something. Pretty sure the Lanparty P35 will be able to do a 1M super pi run @ 515 as well. But to each his own.

I pre-ordered it a couple days ago and hope to have some first-hand results in the near future.

true, but i dont want to spend too much... simply because of p45 not being too far away..

and dfi boards are always good fun to mess with

Exactly. Both windwithme and Victor Wang achieved great results with the Dark.

Running P95 for 12-24 hours (for percieved stability) with a quad at 515FSB will surely shorten the life of the board. Most any highend board will run 500+FSB with a quad (if the CPU can do it) if you pump enough voltage to it but you will sacrifice life expectancy.

I never received an email with tracking info either, but it arrived today. Not bad, considering I placed the order Monday.

Also, the quantity available on their site moved back up to 10 today.
