Jaws,

I like your avitar. Damn, used to watch Transformers after school...those were the days. Guess they are airing the newer ones on Cartoon Network. I was flipping around and saw an episode that was recently made.

Well, back to the subject...I'm compressing some home videos right now and will try this chip out later tonight.

looks like one of those thoroghton cores or whatever (thoroughbred-barton...i think its a barton with only 256 L2)

Nope, it s a thoroughbred, its just a new package design theres a thread by Marci on the second page of the AMD section atm with lots of info on them

Im not betting for a great overclock:
The last letter of the 4 digit code W means that it is from a poor wafer i do believe

The chip is a DUT3C so needs 1.6v whereas the DLT3Cs only need 1.5v

also JIXHB is a poor stepping. but that doesnt mean it wont overclock well , no stepping definetly tells you how well it wil lOC just gives you signs

you seem to have picked up a weird colour core too but as JAWS says, test it and let us know

i thought the Xp1800+ DLT3C JIXHB steppings did realy well with several people getting to 2.5ghz at a low voltage of 1.8v or less ..... but the chips seem to hate any higher voltages ???

As I say, it nevers works that way, even if the chip has a poor stepping it can still clock well.
