well, i was surfing the internet about two hours ago, when all of the sudden my monitor turned off and the 'on' led started to turn on and off rapidly, extremely fast. so i pressed the reset button, and while the led indicated it's on, there was nothing on the screen.
after a few checks i've done, i came to these conclusions -
reset \ turning the computer off and on doesn't help.
neither does re-connecting all the cables between the monitor and the computer.
turning the monitor off, pressing reset and turning the monitor back on while the computer boots doesn't help. but, turning the monitor on after windows boot does help. the first few times i tried it lasted about 5 minutes before it happened again, after that it lasted about 5 seconds..
i would just like to add that this monitor served me well for about 2.5 years and that i didn't do anything prior to this.
plugging a different monitor to the same computer does work.
