Hi all!

I'm bit late with these Ati cards and crossfire, but better late than never ;)

All parts are aircooled and ambient temperature is 23c.

System:
QX9650 L739A634 (Asus silent Square Pro full speed + 120mm fan)
Maximus Formula
G.Skill HZ 2GB
2xSapphire 2900Pro
Thermaltake 850W

My max power consumption was 820W in 3DM06 GT3  I can't take these parts any further because there is not enough juice in the cables :D

I'm going to test this CPU under LN2 in the end of this month, so then we will see some bigger scores  I haven't decided what cooling method I will use on 2900s. LN2, Dice or 2x1HP SLI rotaries or chilled water. I think that chilled water is okay for starters.

Results:

01 just quick run without tweaking:
68921

03:
68922

05 30K on air is nice:
68919

06:
68923

AQ3:
68920

More to come in the end of this month

820w on air is impressive......i hope that when you test under LN2 try with psu of 2000w  , however nice start Pete

Thanks! I have only little time to find good 1200W power supply before my bench session :(

woah that's alot of juice consumed... compare that to my QX9650 @4350Mhz at 1.728v with 2x HD3850 @783/2196 unmodded system power draw under load was between 480-525 Watts!

Do you really need that much voltage to run 4.35GHz

I have to use 1.3v - 1.35V for these 2900 pro cores to work at 863-880 :(
These are not XT's for sure. Power consumption was ~730W in most of the tests, but that 06 GT3 is a killer.

My new Thermaltake TP 1200W is on the way

Yeah needed that much i have one of the worse QX9650 clocking cpus around 1.40v to 1.44v for 4000mhz on air/water http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=5099 but can easily do 470-475FSB at default cpu pll 1.5v heh

Good luck on new psu.. seems like you really need it :)

Good benchmarks. your 850 watt psu low performance 2900 pro. At least, necessary 1000 watt + psu:up:

i've also got 2 hd2900xt and a e6850@4.5ghz @ single stage.
on stock video clokcs it's no prob with my antec 550w psu, but oced it crapps out. :D
the power consumption ist extremely high :D

anyway nice results bro :toast:

hmmm....too much vgpu for 880mhz....
try with 1.25v and 100% fan spd on 2900's and see what happens...
use RT 2.06 to set/save 100% fan spd @ start up for cards.....
my 2900 pros flashed to 2900XT's need
1.25v for 875-900mhz.....its latest sapphire 2900 pro I receive for some crossfire.

These are not very good samples. Both are old and need 1.3V to run 900MHz on water. I may try my waterchiller on these and see if it helps.

I tested my QX9650 on Dice today and I'm going to test it with LN2 soon.

2900Pro records :D ??? Not bad for 2x 160€ VGAs

Nice runs.:)

Quad at 5ghz and up on dice still amazes me

How much voltage are you putting through those sticks to get DDR2-1350 with cas4?

Memset is reading it wrong. Mem is running only 500-505MHz (2.3V)

These are just warm up runs...

I draw 790 while playing Crysis with my Q6600 at 3.8 and my 2900xts at 950/1075. I know that the GDDR3 takes more voltage/current, thus more power, but I guess most of the difference is that crazy OCed CPU!
Good score though!

Ah okay makes sence, I didnt notice the ratio in memset till now.

These pro's are great. I have one and I hope to get my system together soon for some subzero single card action.:)

Haha... Old thread was dugged up.

Here is my last runs with 2900Pro CF:

34136 in 05: http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=685147

AM3 289fps: http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=685149

Now I'm done with these and they are already gone to the new owner.

Next I'm starting to bench this setup - See the motherboard and chipset!

So is that the bug where it actually shows the X38 as the X48, or do you just have the |337 hookup with FoxConn?

SF3D
01-07-2008, 02:30 PM
CPU-Z reads it right. It is Foxconns next gen (X48) mainboard BlackOPS.

Wow ! New motherboard by Foxconn ... :yepp: I wonder if it's gonna be a big hit like the P35/DDR2 Mars one ... ;) What's the overall impression that Foxconn Blackops left you ? Clocks good ?

DMH
01-07-2008, 03:21 PM
If it follows the Mars it's probably the best clocking one:D

You are right :)

This is strong board, but I have an early engineering sample and there is some problems with memory timings. These problems are not present in production version.

I will do another thread soon with some results.

I've got a 2900xt and a pro(flashed to xt) in crossfire.
Please tell me how to increase Voltage and Fan speed.
I'm just not having any luck. Thanks.
