View Full Version : HD 3850 256Mb Crossfire in "Crysis"

I have a couple of HD 3850 256Mb cards I got as placeholders for the HD 3870 X2 that supposed to come out.

Anyway, I tried the "Crysis" demo under Vista x64 with the 7.11 hotfix drivers @ both 1440x and 1680x. I used a combination of high and medium settings. I also tested at all medium. I used 4xAF only and that was to clean up distant textures. I did not use a tweaked configuration file and only altered settings from within the game. They did surprisingly well. I'd say good for high with some medium and excellent for all medium. If you are interested in the results they are linked below with a ton of pics with FRAPS. If you are on 56K you may not want to bother.

I believe he is referring to the AMD Catalyst 7.11 drivers...

there are some hotfix drivers to help some graphics corruption issues..

it's nice for people to know you don't have to spend a fortune to make the game run smooth and look nice at the same time. good thread.

So how much do you get in the GPU benchmark at 1680? I can run 1920 everything on High at 30ish FPS.

Edit: your single GTX is still noticeably faster than the two, correct?

just unpack the zip file in your "\Crysis\Game\Config\CVarGroups" directory and replace the original files. then when you start crysis set everything to high and shadows to medium.

i'd love to see if you get 40+ at 1680x :)
