G90 is over a year old, and isn't quite topped by G92. RV670 just came out, and also fails to match G90.

So when are we going to see the next real jump in performance? I've done a little searching for roadmaps, but most seem out-of-date or speculative.

There really isn't much more than speculation right now, but as you've probably seen there are rumors of a real NV next gen in Feb. Some say Jan., but it seems to me new gen stuff is rarely released in Jan. Being in a product delivery group myself, I find that January deliverables usually don't make their scheduled date anyhow due to lack of productivity around the holidays. Maybe that has something do do with it...

Ok, enough of my rambling; Short story: No solid answers. :D

NVIDIA D9x series should be coming in February.

Target launch for AMD R700 is sometime in the vicinity as well...

Unfortunately I highly doubt its gonna make January or February. Its so off for Nvidia to release then. Sucks cause I was gonna step up my 2 cards to a 9 series card (most likely the one just below the 9800GTX)

last i heard, we were supposed to get some dual core releases from both companies in Jan/Feb, but we aren't going to get any new architectures released until summer. nothing exciting happening this winter.

Hmm. I wonder if nVidia's holding something back because ATI really can't compete at the moment. Regardless of the cause, it's too bad -- for awhile there we were looking at major new releases every nine months or so.

nvidia hit a wall with their 65nm fab witch is why the 790i chipset got delayed and the g92 has low yealds, but lucky for them ati has only just now caught up a year latter so it bought them some time

i doubt it. there are enough Crysis-happy people out there to buy new high end cards if they were put on the market. it seems like everyone (Microsoft included) is struggling with DX10 at the moment. besides, there are only a handful of games that can push the 3870's and 8800's to their limits anyway. i can play CoD4 at max settings right now, so i'm happy.
