will it be ok for playing crysis and cod4 at lower resolutions and high settings. or should i get the 640mb it doesnt seem like it is better with lower resolutions. im using dell card so this card is in stock and ready to ship unlike the 8800gt that i canceled cuz im sick of waiting for. the 640mb is 60 dollars more and the gtx is over 100 dollars more and really dont want to spend the extra money. will it be ok to play games is my question. i have a 7600gt right now and im looking to get better graphics. please let me know so i can see if i made the right decision since i ordered the evga 8800gts 320mb superclocked.

How much did it cost you. The card will struggle in Crysis.

The GTS 320mb and 640mb are end of line now with the introduction of the GT and the GTS refresh.

You have the old GTS because the new one only comes in the 512mb version.

If possible take it back for a 8800GT 512mb or 8800GTS 512mb.

I would not put to much stock in a Feb Release, they need to get their milage out of thier 2 new releases the Gt and gts 512. I bet unless ATI has a rabbit in a hat, it will take to late march, but prob april, just in time for your refund checks to get any real changes in hte Nviudia market.

That is just my 2c butttt.......

i can only get it from dell so im stuck with wut they got and right now they are not stocking any 8800gt's and are on back order and sick of waiting. so the 8800gts 320mb is ready to ship and i ordered it. should i have got the 640mb for $375 or the ultra for $477. i dont wanna spend that much so i went 320mb. i had 2 8800gt's ordered but they keep upping the ship date and im sick of it. and the 640mb is 1-2 weeks so im waitin there to. is the 8600gts 512mb any good? i would think its worse than the 8800gts 320mb.

Man, the ultra is the top of the line, you should have cracked the piggy bank and pushed to get that one, based on the diff in price...

Why are you limited to Dell?

You paid $309 for an inferior card. The 8800GT I linked is only $246.38 and is the better card.

i just bought 2 asus 8800gt's from dell and then im gonna cancel my other order. i might keep the other order and do step up on the 8800gts 320mb for a 8800gt or 8800gts G92 card. dunno yet do you think i could get the step up with the 8800gts 320mb for the 8800gt from evga without giving them anymore money

It will cost you shipping both ways, but yes, the step up from an 8800GTS 320 to an 8800GT is "free". Bear in mind, at this point, you will receive a stock clocked 8800GT in exchange for any flavor of 8800GTS (KO/superclocked etc.).
