Get 2 evga 8800GT's in SLi, and then step up to the new 9XXX series in late January/early Feb.

These cards are amazing.

hes using a P5K so that rules out SLI. Get a single 8800GTX and then stepup that in the new year.

hmm I think that 800gtx is overpriced... if we compare it to 8800gt

The 7950gx2 is already a strong card, I went from a 7950 gx2 to an 8800 gtx. With an A64 X2 + gx2 my '06 score was 9k, but with an 8800gtx + C2D it was 12k. If I hadn't won the card, the upgrade wouldn't have been worth it. I say just overclock the gx2 and wait for the geforce 9 series since the 8 series has been out for a year already.

heh
here is the problem..

full cover block for 7950gx2 cost as much as half of 8800gt

stock cooling is almost dead:) so i have to change my card:)

then i would pick up a cheap 8800GT EVGA flavor so u can stepup, 90 days i think?

or get the cheapest one u can find, HD3870 is also good!

which brand of 8800gt is good if we count evga out?

look at the 3870 with the volt mod and a good heatsink one of them will take out ur gx2 and a pair will take anything out

this really isn't a hard decision here. if you need a good price/performance card, the choice is only between a Radeon 3870 and GeForce 8800GT. the new GTS 512MB is overpriced imo. if you have the money, you can run two 3870's in CrossFire and score 15K in 3DMark06 with your CPU.

2x3870's in crossfire I say. :)

hmm ok i am thinking now between 3870 and 8800gt

i think i wont be running crossfire or sli because of money(i don't have it unlimited)

i was looking some tests results on net and i have seen that 8800gt dominates 3870 in every test..

so i will take 8800gt.
