Ok. So I had my cards OC'd at 670 core, 2000+ memory (Actual clock, not halved) (cant remember exact clock on mem) and I was playing crysis in Dx10 & Dx9 last night (The Demo, my full game comes in tomorrow) and everything was dandy for over an hour. So just a little while ago I decided to get ATI Tool to do some testing on it. So I run the artifact scan, and about 1:50 into it, a few artifacts pop up, and it keeps on from there. I figure, eh no biggie. So then after this I tried playing crysis, and it works fine for about 3 minutes, & then freaking locks up and BSODS on me. This is AFTER I ran ATI Tool. Last night it was perfectly fine at these clocks for a long while.

Now when I OC'd my cards, I moved them up about 5mhz for my core & Mem at the same time then click apply, and then another 5, and hit apply & so on until I was where I wanted to be. I think I ran Crysis once somewhere in between getting to the clocks said above.. Is this okay?? Or should I only go up about 5mhz, then test and repeat??

Thanks for any input.

wtf, could someone please put in some help??

I have been inching up by 5 mhz now on core and mem clock, seperately. So I will do 5mhz for core, then run test, then 5mhz for mem and run test. Im at only 670 core, and 1960 for mem clock and I just started getting artifacts agian on ATI Tool. Why can I barely OC??

Maybe the card isn't a great overclocker?

Something you may have to consider...

You obviously have the right approach so don't complain when people aren't posting the same step by step procedure that you have already mentioned.

How are the temps.

Temps are very good. Got the fans cranked up to 75%. My room is freezing as well.

doh, I just realized I had "Link clocks" selected in Riva Tuner, for linking the core and shader speed. So everytime I raised my core clock it raised the shader speed too. So once I hit 680 with my core, my shaders were at 1680, and thats when I started getting errors. So I unlinked them, and brought the shaders back to like 1660, and now I can OC my core further. My memory is doing good at 2005mhz.

See? You didn't need any help. Good job... and umm... slow down a bit, don't freak when the world doesn't save you at that instant. Take a walk, go back and try again.
