Good evening.

I purchased a 256MB Gigabyte 8600GT Silent Pipe II, PCI-E (x16) for my future upgrade and read that it needs a 450W power supply. Now I currently own an Enermax Liberty 400W PSU(ELT400AWT) which intend to keep. Is this enough for the card?

Thank you.

should be fine. If not, it'll let you know...

Should be fine. They recommend 400w for the 8800 series, not yours.

Thanks guys - got me worried some issues people had with this card and - incidentally - my same PSU.

8600GT? It consumes less than 50W..

They "require" 450W is just to be on the safe side with all the crappy little generic PSUs most people are still unfortunately using.
Liberty 400W should have no problems with most systems and that card.
