CompUSA's inventory is being liquidated. Unfortunately liquidation sales are often disappointing. The people doing the liquidating are out to make money, so they are not going to give merchandise away. CompUSA is offering an Antec Earthwatts 430W PSU for $29.99 after rebate. But nothing on their website has jumped out at me and said, buy me.

CompUSA does have an auction site which sells everything from computer parts to jewelry. Sometimes you can find good deals there.

I remember going to a KMart that was closed and being stripped down.
Walked up to the Liquidater and asked if he was selling or just packing.
He asked what I wanted. I said all the computer gear in the store..
He said" Make me an offer"
I said "$100.00"
"sold"
Filled 2 vans with equipment that day..

You givnig him $100.00 to take it away was better than him paying $400.00 for the equivelent number of dumpsters to dispose of the stuff!

You can check the dumpsters the day after the remaining CompUSA stores close, though I doubt you will find any merchandise in them.:) The liquidators will probably sell off any remaining inventory to other resellers. They could also continue selling stuff on the website, which is what happened to Tower Records after they closed all their stores. A lot of people don't know it, but CompUSA started out selling just software. The company was eventually bought by Carlos Slim, believed to be the richest person in the world.

Nah, you didn't see what I grabbed that day.. Thousands in $$$ had I bought it retail. 48 port level3 managed switch, OKI-Data printer.
I did quite nicely for that $100.00:D

Excuse me, but that would be "technology reclamation in situ specialists". We've even got a union, so how's about a little r-e-s-p-e-c-t?

@Dave - Me too, me too....I'm only slightly less than frugle.

I hope I didn't mislead anyone....I wasn't trying to do that.

Please don't go driving to CompUSA for nothing guys....their flyer is available on their website.

I was just trying to give a heads-up of MAYBE some coming deals in the next few weeks or month or so when and if they sell off and/or close the doors.

How's that for a disclaimer?:D
