Shamino (the nicest OCer in face of the earth) send me a Foxconn MARS to test..

I unpacked the board, update the bios, mount my good old E6850 and Tuniq Tower and here is I what I get on the 1st attempt:

Really amazed buy the OC potential of this motherboard

Great work Sham and the rest of the Foxconn teat

More results to come ...

The board is amazing i just really want a DDR3 version.

So far is much better than P5k3 Deluxe on everything

no it's not, it trails behind IN 3D benching , in O6 even by 200-300points.

Foxconn Mars is a good board, but not the best...

I have it and sometimes make it problems with the bios settings and it need to much
NB VCore for high FSB. (~1.90v NB for 555FSB) :(

i dont see how it could be better than DFI LP P35, not on quads anyhow.

What is the maximum vcore you can set in BIOS?

Max VCore = 2.03v

VDroop = 1.600v bios -> 1.576v idle -> 1560 load

I will test it with Quads and in the mini-cascade..

How does this board go with 4 sticks of RAM?

Vdroop is not so good , they just wanted to stick to intel specs so rigidly, :) but they left resistor to offset vdroop with a bios update, so if many guys make noise i hope they will relent :D

Well that might be true if P5K3 Deluxe was able to clock my E8400 as high, i got a lot more MHz out of the CPU because of improoved FSB, so yes MARS is better, clock for clock maybe not.

why not enable/disable it bios setting like Asus do now ??

I keep reading vdroop is part of spec & is neccesary to avoid caps blowing? I read it on another article on here. . . ?

that seems odd imo, since the caps shouldnt blow if they are using the proper voltage rating. i guess someone needs to replace the caps then on their boards... what ever the max allowable voltage in bios, that should be the caps rating x2. if its 2v in bios then it should be 4v rating on the cap.

i am asking about a realtive Max FSB difference between this and other boards that pedro has tested

your results make no sense unless you tested both boards otherwise people can randomly pop in and post FSB OCs

what i want to know is how far behind asus/gigabyte/DFI it is if at all on max FSB screens or stable OCs

i sold a chip to dpa that did screenshots as high as 627MHz on a gigabyte X38 board with only -10C on the pot base and dpa cannot get even close in FSB with LN2 on CPU with this P35 Mars board....
