This is my best score to date:

If i try to OC anything higher then that i get artifacts and eventually a full lockup when testing with ATI Tool.

I've used 1024x768x16bit Windows res before the bench, set the PCI-ex bus speed to 130Mhz in the bios, SETFSB detected it as 177Mhz for some reason  I lost all my SATA HDD's at that bus speed also... i guess that's normal.

CPU was clocked at 3760Mhz (8x470), ram at 5-5-5-15 2T 1:1

Everything in windows (XP 32bit) was set to performance. Drivers were latest nvidia beta's 169.09. I used to get lower scores with the latest WHQL's. DIsabled all unnecessary services and programs running in the background, explorer included. I forgot to set the 3dmark priority to real time (if it's not set like that by default), dunno how much difference that makes.

Also, i used rivatuner for OC'ing. I tried leaving my shader at stock 1350 and upped the GPU clock to 700Mhz. I then ran GPU-Z to check it out but the clock remained at the default 581Mhz for some reason. The max GPU clock i could set with rivatuner while leaving my shader at default speed was 660Mhz for some reason

I think it's definately possible to break 14k with my setup. I was checking out this guy's score

http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=655590

His CPU is clocked lower then mine, his FSB is lower, his timings are the same, his GPU is clocked lower then mine, only his GPU RAM is clocked 20mhz higher. Yet he gets ~14200

Any ideas what i could do to improve this?

wipe your drive and do it again. Close a bunch of background apps and maybe even get rid of explorer.exe . Your hard drive clutter is probably affecting your scores now.

Overclock shader domains separately ;) It'll give you nice boost.
I'm right now fighting 18k with my watercooled year and a month old GTX and new drivers ;) @ 730/2000/2400 ;)
17964 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=4006652)
Also 169.17 drivers are a little faster in sm2 ;)
Good luck:up:

Try dropping your ram timings to 5-4-5-12 and up the RAM volts a little, thats if u have voltage headroom.

I lowered the timings to 5-4-5-12. Set 3dmark process priority to Realtime. Installed 169.17 drivers.

Best i could get is 13943. I guess i'll just have to leave it at that :)

The only thing that bothers me is that the guy i linked in my first post has the card and cpu overclocked lower then me yet gets a massive +300 points extra.

Are the WHQL's better performers then the beta's? I didn't find it so but maybe you guys have...

Looking at this guy score 625mhz Gpu and 6800 sm3 point his shaders must be near 1900 ;) I told you try upping shaders to get a lot better score. My card is getting near 700-800 point from upping shaders from sync ~1780mhz when @720 GPU to 2000mhz and 730 gpu ;)

Hmm. Well, if i up the shaders any more with these settings i get full lockups. You think it will be stable if i clock it lower (600-620 or so) and then up the shaders?

I'll give it a try in a few minutes either way :)

BTW: does the PCI-ex bus speed in the bios make any difference? I cannot set it to 130mhz with these new drivers... everything just freezes when i use SetFSB to increase my clock from 450 to 470. It didn't do that with the 169.08's.

Anyway, best score i got with PCI-ex fsb @ 100mhz default, 169.17 drivers, card at 660/1440/1100 was 13927.

Done :D

GPU clock: 660
Shaders: 1700 (anything above that causes 3dmark to artifact and freeze)
Ram: 1130 (anything above causes 3dmark to freeze)
PCI-Ex bus: 120Mhz

3DMark06: 14110 :D

With the shaders at 1700 and the RAM left at 1100 i was getting only 14046. I tried downclocking the GPU to 625 but i couldn't set the shaders above 1700 (freezes). I got around 13800 points with the clock at 625 and shader at 1700 and ram at 1100. GPU Clock makes the biggest difference apparently. Can't OC it even by 1mhz above 660 unfortunately :(

gpu clocks go up in jumps, not 1mhz at a time, so even though you have set 660, you are really at 648 and the next step up is 675, then 684, then 702. Shader is the same but steps up in 54 mhz jumps. Thats how it is on the GTS anyway and i think its the same for GTX. Look in rivatuner v2.06 monitoring screen to see your real clocks ;) Gpuz just displays whatever you set in OC program.
