If you don't plan on overclocking then why are you wasting money buying PC8500 ram?
Go with some Tracer DDR2 800 if your not overclocking, also I don't think you really need 4GB...But hey that's my opinion.
Also you know newegg dosen't ship to mexico right?
i plan on running the memory at 1066, the speed its rated for, no overclocking... or do i need to OC my processor to run at 1066?
yes I know newegg doesnt ship to mexico, but a friend owns a house in texas so ill ship the stuff there , then drive 5 hrs to pick it up ... :/ I hope everything arrives working

Glad you posted as to buy that computer would be a complete utter waste of your money, man you don't even know!
I just ordered my new computer and I did quite a bit of research, even bought some parts Ima be sending back as I later found out I shoulda did something different
So lets begin!
First off I wasn't in the market for a monitor so idk about that, but I like Samsung as a company.
The Q6600 you picked is the same as me, try to make sure it's a GO stepping if you can as those are the best.
I would seriously reconsider the no OCing if I was you as I've been told you can add an easy 800/1000 mhz to your Q6600 on just air cooling, no volt upping.
The 8800GTX is literally the last card you want to buy as they are being phased out. Let me get you up to date a bit on the video card situation, within this month both ATI and Nvidia have released two new lines of cards ATI's released their 3000's and Nvidia is just giving their cards basically the same names as the old 8800 series just revision 2. The days of the monster 500 dollar+ video cards seem to be at an end as both VC manufacturers on going for multi core structures now much in the way the CPU's are going now.
Not all of the new cards are out, in fact only 3 are out
Nvidia Released the 8800GT 512mb which is in between a GTS640 and a GTX for a MSRP of 200 to 250, the production line isn't exactly pouring these out though and the rumor is Nvidia is only going to be able to produce about 80k or so more of these before the year ends which is obviously leading resellers to jack up the price, if you can find one in stock their going for 270 to 300 dollars.
Now to be clear the 8800GT does pretty soundly be the new ATI card which I'll get to in just a minute, but when it comes to SLI vs Crossfire between these cards the Crossfire setup just gets much more performance out of it's two cards then the SLI chipsets are putting the crossfire on top in my mind
Now ATI's two cards are the 3850 and the 3870 which are respectively 180 and 220 dollars MSRP, the 3850's aren't that hard to find, the 3870's are, but I just ordered two from Bestbuy today for below MSRP at 214 a piece and I suggest you do the same as they won't last, resellers are price gouging on these cards too even though it is rumored AMD/ATI will pump out over half a million of these things before years end. Never the less I'd jump on the Bestbuy.com deal now if I was you.
Your way off in ram especially for someone who hasn't much interest in OCing, I just bought 4 Gigs of OCZ platinum for 120 bucks, 60 after the rebates and you should probably do the same.
Looking back at when I started building my own computers I'm a bit shocked to see having uber PSU's is the thing to do for some people now, a waste of money if you ask me, I ordered a coolermaster 650 watter for 70 bucks and it will be 30 after rebate!
DVD burner and Hard drive are easy to figure out yourself obviously
I'm a fan of cooler masters cases as well and the one you have picked out is just fine.
So down to the motherboard, definitely make sure you get a X38, but also make sure it's not one of the DDR3 only ones as DDR3 memory is nothing, but a massive waste of money and is super expensive.
Not sure what X38 to tell you to get, I ordered a board, but I gotta send it back as it's not what I need I'll let you know what X38 I get once I figure it out..

the new g92 8800gts is worth having a look at - hopefully be released in early december b4 chrismas. (dec 11th??)
or else you need x38 (preferably) for crossfire
better off with 2x 3870 if you going that direction in my opinion....so yr 500 graphics bucks go to 2x 3870 plus a little extra for the x38 board.

if you 'arent overclocking' you could get the intel bonetrail board :) $230
asus p5e for $218 at motherboardpro.

Asus Maximus Formula X38 $244

8800 ultra sli would get you that res in crysis preferably from xfx or evga overclocked

......The days of the monster 500 dollar+ video cards seem to be at an end as both VC manufacturers on going for multi core structures now much in the way the CPU's are going now......
LOL!!
Yeeaahh <sarcasm>
But I sure hope that you are right.
ATI and Nvidia are still going to offer $500+ high end cards....
ATI's R680 will be $500 or more when it's released in late January/February. R700 is speculated to come in both single core and multi-core versions and no doubt ATI's high end models are going to be $500+ easily.
Nvidia's next gen high end card is speculated to contain 2x G92. This card will be $500+. Speculated to be called 8850 GX2
Right now, there are only mainstream cards being released by both sides, that's why there are no new $500+ cards....

THANKS for the input guys.... I only shop at newegg/bestbuy, beacuse for some reason my mexican CC works, i dont want totry on other retailers beacuse they might see mexico and try to screw me or something... basically i only trust newegg
going 2x 3870 is better than a single 8800GTX?? (out of stock @ bestbuy arrrgg)
does the 'sli certified' power supply ive chosen coompatible with ati crossfire?
what bout this asus x38 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131219)
should i get 800 memory instead of 1066? maybe i will overclock if it runs cool with stock fan, but nothing extreme
k thx

k thx :up:2 X 3870 is better than GTX most of the times... remaining times, it's due to driver bugs...
And yes, a SLI certified is Crossfire certified at the same time... because all you need is 2 PCI-E plugs, so if it's certified, you won't have any problems.
The P5E is a pretty decent X38 chipset board...
And 800mhz memory oftens hit 1066mhz with no problem and won't get that warm ;)

whatever u decide on dont go sli the 680i/780i lack longevity and even if u dont oc make sure that u get some micron dimed ram like crucial, brands like ocz and corsair (non dominator) exclusively use promos and elpidia now and those just dont cut it
and look at the pc power adn cooling or corsair or silverstone psu the ocz line isnt very good they are just reject pc power
