Anyone know how to turn off those annoying flying paper particle effects in COD4?

there's a stupid effect in COD4 of flying paper\debree that doesnt come from anything at all.

they use the very old illusion technique of flying stuff at your camera from nowhere.

like "rain" effects from really old games where you just saw lines coming across your view.

try turning Specular Map off. that will also turn map glow off if i'm not mistaken, but i think that will get rid of the trash. or you can just keep it and get used to it. i hated it at first too, but i've grown to like it. it adds character to the maps. it adds to the war zone feeling.

I agree with xMrBunglex, at first I was like WTF, then I was like well there are offices in these maps, so flying paper does make sense.

i personally like it. i think it gives a more realistic feeling to maps.....adding effects like wind and flying random objects definately adds something

I quite like it as well, too bad they don't have random bugs flying into your face.

what i hate about it is that its not real, its not a real flying object, it's jsut floating on the "lens" like the cheap snow effect in oblivion (it moves with you)
