Is any kind of di-electric grease ok to use in your cpu socket?
Or are some brands better than others?
They all do exactly the same thing and do not conduct any electricity at all and drive out water / help prevent condensation right?

Grease that doesn't conduct electricity and has a relatively thick consistency. Typical automotive dielectric grease and vaseline will work fine.
well for our use the different properties for different grease is pretty useless. We don't need a grease that lubricate for example.
we can use whatever that's delectric as long as it has the right viscosity, all other properties is useless for us.
vaseline, loctite 8104, silicone and some more is usefull for us.

As stated above, as long as it's dielectric and not super thing you're fine.
Biggest thing to worry about is consistency, some are easier to remove than others. Vasoline for example is a pain to remove in my experience...
A lot of people use spark plug grease, can be found at automotive store for cheap and it's a good consistency.

Yep i used to use luberex stuff which was great but latest one i got was spark plug dielectric grease which was a different colour and a lot thinner
I didnt know you could use vasolene - sounds like its a little too thick in consistency but i could always use in an emergency

And god knows what that thick white stuff is that asetek supply but i dont really like it - its a nightmare to remove

Vasoline seems to work better for coating surfaces around a socket... I wouldn't advise putting it into a CPU socket. That'd be a NIGTHMARE.

so for the chilly1 evap how what would be needed on a 775 socket.

You guys need to buy a can of Chemtronics EZ Wash PX to blast away any of the greases/oils for the socket and chips. Works amazing!

Ive found surgical spirit and a very fine toothbrush is good for cleaning grease out of the socket and conformal coating off the board
