Dualcore or Quad Core? Are you sure you don't mean Core 2 Duo instead of Dualcore?

Quad core hands down. Unless money is really an issue (eventhough you are getting two 3870's).

Get the Q6600.

The Q6600 is only $50.00 more than the E6750 and it doubles it's performance... so unless you really need $50.00 or want a slow computer....

PS. Please ditch the ATi and get two 8800GT instead..

how does the q6600 double the performance of a e6750?
From what ive seen its all about the clock speed since the majority of apps dont use 4 threads, therefore a faster dual core would be better.....

Well, the simple answer is, you know when you see the start of a game and it posts up a "Nvidea" logo... Well, I never see a game that posts up "Made for ATI.

Basically, I never played favorites until recently when ATI stopped being creative. Bad vibes when a company makes nothing for a year and then comes out with something that is only as good as what has been recently offered... WTF..

Quad, it's the way of 2008 and what's ahead. well, at least until octal becomes the thing.. then this thread's overall opinion would be O8800 or whatever it will be called in a couple years.

wish we had quad cpu and 64bit optimized software across the board.. that would be nice.

Would a duo core at 4ghz be faster then a Q6600 at 3.6ghz in current games like crysis ect?

yup, until they patch and get it to optimize for 4 cores.

Oh God whats wrong with you guys?! How could you not warn him about the glaring error in his first post.

P5E boards (with the exception of one asus board)

Have a major flaw in them when it comes to crossfire, yes they have two PCIE slots, but only one is a 16x speed, the other is a measly 4x and their is no way around this.

So basically if you go cheap with a P5E board your going to significantly hinder your boost from your second card.

Thats why everyone is so hot for the X38 boards, all their PCIE slots are X16, on top of this theirs even some that have 3 or 4 PCIE slots incase you wanted even more GPU's in the future.

Spend the extra hundred and get a x38 board.

Sure, go with the Xeon if its a big difference in price.

the xeon 3210 is clocked a bit lower though than the Q6600 (2,13 vs. 2,4Ghz), the comparable xeon would be the 3220.
