You mean it's loud? Not quiet? Do you have it screwed down? Does it sound defective?

they should be a slight whining noise....

If there's more might be faulty

did you run the pump dry? Did you bleed all the air from the system yet? Mine is barely audible.

Mine was really loud, until I bled ALL the air out of the system. It is possible that there are tiny bubbles of air inside the pump. Tilt the outlet of the pump up and smack it fairly hard with your hand. Some air should some out.

Yes it would help to screw it down. Or use some velcro, any thing to keep it from vibrating.

The pump should not be screwed down. It is the quietest unscrewed down sitting on memory foam.

Agree with sitting it on some foam. Not sure why you say it shouldn't be screwed down. Mine is dead silent and its bolted to the case. I like things with water in them tied down. :D

I picked up two DDC's, one with Petras Top and one with the XSPC clear top.

Both came pre-assembled but the Petras was silent, and the XSPC was a lot louder. I took the XSPC apart, put it back together again and it was silent.

Try taking it apart and putting it back together :)

Like me, the first time I put the aftermarket top on, I screwed it too tight. It vibrated and made all kinds of noise. Unscrew it a little while running to see if that helps. This is of course after you unbolt it and put it on foam or gel as others mentioned to be sure where the noise is coming from.

In some cases, the vibration can travel through the screws and the case can magnify the vibration into noise.

I just had the issue where I changed over all of my lines to hard copper with the pump just sitting on foam unbolted. The pump was about 4 times louder and you could feel the vibration from the pump in the case traveling through the hard copper inlet and outlet lines. I went back with vinyl tubing for the lines going in and out of the pump and the noise level is back to normal.
