I've got a DQ6 Rev2.0 Motherboard, where one slot is 16x and one 4x. I've got a C2D E6600 CPU @ 3.0 GHZ, and 4GB DDR2 @ 667MHz / 4-4-4-12.
GFX OC: 850GPU and 2600VDIMM
3dmark06:
Score with one card: 11 000 pts
Score with two cards: 13 000 pts.
Anyone know what the huge bottleneck is?

Not to be too picky, but I've had occational bad experience with Asus and decided never to buy anything from them again, so any alternatives to Asus boards?
Gigabyte GA-X38-DS5, X38, Socket-775, ATX, GbLAN, DDR2, 2xPCI-Ex(2.0)x16 <- maybe? (its the cheapest with PICe 2.0 I could find)

also the bottleneck is the processor running at 3Ghz. That coupled with the 16/4 is killing you. I'm also currently running 16/4 but my scores are much higher because of my cpu.

I have a P965 DQ6 rev. 1.0 16x/4x and 2xHD3870 840/2400 Q6600@3.33ghz and scores 17100 points in 3Dmark 2006. So the "old" DQ6 is not to bad after all. But, still, a P35 with 8x/8x or a x38 with 16x/16x PCI-E 2.0 is the way to go to get the most out of a crossfire system!

Not all of them, Asus Blitz Extreme P35 have 8x/8x. But, is hard to find these days. Still, not all P35 is 16x/4x as I said....
