Hello all :)

I'm investing around $2400 in a new computer, one of the following days.
I have it cut out to this, but I'd like to take a few suggestions before I pull the trigger.

Motherboard: ASUS P5E, Intel X38, GLAN, 8 Channel Surround Audio, SATAII RAID, Firewire, Dual PCI-Express VGA, Dual DDR2-800 / DDR2-1066, LGA775

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TXEU, 650 Watt, 120mm Fan, Power Effecient, Cable Management / Modular Cables, 19 - 35 db, Temp. Auto Control

GFX: x2, CrossFire ATI Radeon HD 3870, 512MB GDDR4, Dual DVI, HDTV, PCI-Express, Retail

CPU: Core 2 Quad Model Q6600 (2.4GHz), EM64T (Extended Memory Technology 64), 1066FSB, 8MB Cache (Socket 775), BOX

RAM: 2x Crucial DDR2 BallistiX PC8500 2048MB CL5

What are your opinions of this setup?
Thanks in advance :)

Personaly i would ditch the X38 and the Xfire. But then again i dont know what monitor/resolutions you are aiming to use?.

That looks like a good setup. I recommend getting better cooler for the cpu than the boxed one. TR Ultra 120 Extreme, Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or Cooler master Hyper 212.

I ordered it anyway :)

btw, 3# :) Nice to hear for once, actually :)

4#: I plan to run as high as I can go... I never tried multi-GPU setup (which I insist on, unless you got somethin real revolutionary :P), and I have baaaaad (check general memory) experience with P35 and 4gb ram in 4 sticks (i want 4gb). I know the X38 also has these issues a little, but not nearly as much, I am informed.

2x 3870 also seems to perform very, very well, in all kinds of situations, plus they should overclock very good (55nm and dual slot cooler:))

I am getting a better cooler btw 5#, I currently have a Zalman 9500 on my P4 i might move, and a 8700 coming in the door, so i'll figure something out from that (dont plan on any crazy OC)

thanks or the replies.
