ha i'm desperate , 2 weeks ago i had a p5b deluxe and the current rig i have , but out of no where my video card and ram stopped working at the same time...( i was like wow bad luck..) then i rmad everything and got them back 2days ago with a new motherboard P5K-E . everything was working fine until today when i came back from school .
NO POST AGAIN .
i've tried everything ... cmos clear removing everything and put them back together. still no post and now i start to wonder if my power supply just kill my ram and video card?... for now i can't tell if my video card and rams are dead, yet cuz i have nothing for comparaison but its an option.
can the power supply kill the composant and the motherboard would still boot ( fan turning. green light on the mb ) no beep when everything is plugged ( cpu ram videocard) beep for ram when no ram are incerted and beep for cpu when theres no cpu.
I need HELP im totally desperate.
God help Me... or kindly Xs members help me :)

i think that mobo just has a lot of issues, i think a friend of mine had one and he hated and loved it. good features but it hardly worked. i say just get a different mobo that has the features you want. or ask for it as a xmas gift...
Could be a faulty power supply.

that is very weird, also i might have been thinking of a different ASUS board it has been awhile since i looked into it.
it could be the PSU, best to try a different one or get a PC P&C PSU tester for $20

Try this...
Clear CMOS
Take out ALL RAM
Fire up rig. Try to locate a buzzer. If you get beeps, the rig is alive.
Let it run for 10 seconds or so, then shut off. Pop ram back in.
Fire it up
Should work.
Weird, yes, but so is the P5B Deluxe. This worked for me when a regular CMOS clear wouldn't.

Would this work on any mobo? I need to see if my HW is defective too.

Try everything installed except RAM. Still no POST? Sounds like your RAM doesn't want to boot @ 1.8v. Go to a frys, or a best buy, or WHATEVER and buy a stick of 256MB DDR2-533 and pop that in. Should post right away.

when i put just the ram and cpu i get no beep when only cpu and vga i get the no ram beep, when i dont put the cpu i get the no cpu beep
but why or how would it die overnight like this?? last time it happened both my rams and videocard died... i dont know how but it happened
now i tried to boot with my current rig but with a 7900gs which was working before and still no post. so you think its my rams again...?
and it this probable that my psu kill my ram videocard? without killing the cpu and motherboard?
