I'd like those kind of presentation where you see in real time from where it's come on the map, how much and so on. Others data are interesting like popular graphics card.
Most of the time stats borrows me. I find this kind of presentation much more pleasant than valve stats for example.
There is a nice work of presentation.

For the record and confirmed. This was an idea suggested to FM by Crotale and I at Computex. They followed through and this is part of the end result.
Kinda neat to watch where the scores are coming from around the world.
When new parts are released, this will be a good way to watch what hits the orb (unpublished?) It will be interesting to see what people link up in the future as well.

I do not see any card from the HD 2000 series on the most popular card list.
Shamino and Hipro5 hold the world record.
This could be useful.
What would be alot more useful is if the ORB records displayed GPU clocks properly, voltages, and memory timings.
Make the benchmark a more even blend of GPU, CPU, and RAM, and all those other things, and it would be the ultimate benchmark.
But no complaints here.
Nice use of Flash.
And if this thing is right, 3DMark06 gets results turned it 6000% more often than I thought.

These scores are unpublished, they are just the ones that get sent up at the stage before you'd add them to your ORB account. Also publishing happens a lot less often than you think, people only tend to publish their best scores.
To be honest I don't think Futuremark have the storage to give every score they see a new URL and store it for public viewing.

Hey,
I was actually going to post about the ticker here, but I wasn't able to access the forums. :/ Anyway, good to see that they are up again!
The ticker is Beta (as you may have noticed) and we are constantly improving it. It is currently more eye-candy than useful, but that's how we designed it (for our 10 year party last week). We will add more useful links/tools to it at a later stage. We are working on some other very interesting projects I'm sure you guys will approve and love. At least the ones who complained about the search function. Though some of you may think that we will leave the ORB to collect dust and that we aren't planning on updating it, think again. That's all I can share for the moment.
A big thanks to Fugger for the idea! I hope you like the outcome of it. ;)
ps. In case you guys haven't noticed, we have posted a bunch of stats from 3DMark06 here: http://www.yougamers.com/community/hardwarestats/3dmark06hardwarestats/
Cheers,
Nick

I think people aren't taking into consideration the fact that the results in the ticker are NOT all on default settings. That low 5k score may well be using a lot of AA or a high resolution.

Usually "Generic VGA" are cards which are not yet mapped in our database. ;) It could be anything; old or new.
As a related note, we mapped a load of new ATI/AMD cards today which will show up soon as correct product names (such as some new HD series cards).

The problem is that the results shown in the ticker are not published which means that you can't view them in detail. We may add another ticker which shows published results as they get published, but when and how is another thing.

@ FM,
Now that we've got the blingbling maybe someone has time fix ORB?
Mixed SLi/CF & single card results is no good. No good at all.

Unfortunately it's not a problem in the ORB directly. The main detection is done in the application (the SystemInfo module) and if it doesn't detect SLI/Crossfire for some reason, it can't be easily fixed in the ORB. We have some ideas how to work around it online, but it's less than 50% accurate and that would only make things worse. This is a tricky issue but we are looking into it. Have you tried running PCMark Vantage and checked if it detects SLI/Crossfire correctly? It should as it has a much better SI module than the older benchmarks.
Please don't think that though we publish features like the ticker, it would slow us down in improving existing products/features. We have some great things in the pipeline.
Cheers,
Nick

How about prompting a SLi/CF/single card tick box the user has to choose from everytime when publishing a score?

I'm far from being the one you adressed but I would think any user interaction needed before submission to get a proper configuration is not really what you want, or what they want ( or what anyone should want, just think about all the people who would abuse the feature which undoubtedly would happen ).
Would be far better if the new detection engine in vantage is working as that is probably going into ( or already is ) the next 3dmark. Think fixing the orb as is can not happen as scores from single card overlap dual cards from time to time, you can't arbitrarily say that based on xxx score it's single or dual, maybe when you take into account cpu type/speed it would be doable though?
Sorry to be a party pooper, and I would love them to proof me wrong :yepp:

It's a BETA
I would think it's useful if:
***Why don't you collaborate with CPU-Z, GPU-Z and/or maybe EVEREST/Memset to get all of the relevant hardware configuration details using them and capture them along with the score submissions? (such as the way wPrime uses CPU-Z)
Any bugs or errors in them we would all know about anyway since we use them regularly, and there won't be independent reading bugs.
That would really be worthwhile for all to see in more ways than one. We could start up 3DMark and be able to get a valid CPU-Z, GPU-Z and Memset detail publication (linked preferably) uploaded all in one, little hassle.
Obviously this sort of procedure needs more minds and mutuality than just one body to work.
I would also prefer screenshots of configuration rather than plain text, it is far easier to wade through quickly and the format any novice eyes can become very familiar with, although that much server hosting space would probably increase costs dramatically. The way GPU-Z and CPU-Z displays the details is far preferred to me than 3DMark.
It must be hundreds of times that I've read the ORB and not being able to figure out why one score is higher or lower than another, and what the actual hardware configuration used was that made the difference.
It displays 4 Nov for me too. The loading up takes a very long time, is there no way that can be hastened?

Nick[FM],
How about prompting a SLi/CF/single card tick box the user has to choose from everytime when publishing a score?
Problem is the c-word. Users could claim it's a single-GPU score while it isn't. We have fixed the detection in PCMark Vantage, but we are looking into various ideas how to do it on the server side. It's not easy, but nothing is impossible right. :)

Nick
