Looking to get a new AM2 board as my cfx3200m2/g just took a crap.

i would like to get something that will be for the future. money isn't an issue, I want a GOOOOOOD board.
i will eventually go crossfire
i will eventually go quad core.

I currently have mushkin 1066 memory and it easily does 1250mhz... so i need a mobo that can handle memory speed

It's a rip for the price:

I'd go with DFI or MSI 790FX

If your spending large ammounts of money on quad core nice memory etc why scimp on the mobo besides its not that much more expensive at all...

Asus is a nice board not scimpped.. 8phase CPU + 2 phase memory power moduals... but DFI is the killer with Digital PVM... expensive will be mind..

So in short Asus for good no nonsese power or DFI perhaps if you want to be able to tweak to the max!

Well, i have a decent watercooling kit and its staying that way. I'm not going to the absolute MAX here as my WC setup wouldn't take it nor would the parts.

Gigabyte...eh...never messed with them
MSI...nope not happenin
DFI...dissapointed with the cfx3200m2/g but with what you are saying with digital PVM... hell yeh!!! LOL

ASUS... they stand by there stuff and get you going and I"m very happy with my friends ASUS board he has... so I think I will be getting it when it gets on newegg, maybe it will be cheaper than at the motherboard parts store mentioned above

thanks psycho eddie!!

As I stated earlier in the other thread DFI FTW!!

That sounds kind of lame doesn't it? I broke 2 DFI boards and still want to stay with DFI. I don't mean to troll here LOL but DFI boards can be troublesome sometimes but in the end they are the best there is.

I've had previously one ASUS product and it was a huge disappointment for me...for the time beeing i'm going to stay with DFI.

yep...the arguments between the DFI vs ASUS here.... LOL

one of those i will pick.

and yes, i know what you mean when you say DFI FTW

If you plan quad-fire, no doubts to the MSI K9A2 790FX....if not DFI one :)

My question is will the Asus have v-droop and will pwm overheat. The digital pwm on the dfi will it overheat and shut off. I quess time will tell

I´m gonna go with Abit, I like their quality&build.

ABIT AX78@ abit.com (http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/news/newspop.php?pDOCNO=en_0711133)

On my buddies ASUS board now, a 580 chipset version m2r32 mvp i think
his NB got hot as hell and he put a mcw30 cooler on it. SO... if ASUSs' new mobo the M3 series...get just as hot...and I have good memory cooling.. what is all that copper worth all over the mobo?? LOL

think I'm going to go with the fight between the $325 ASUS M3 series VS the DFI 790

I'm sorry guys but this 8+2 phase power offered from ASUS is getting me... DFI only has 6+2 phase.

and ASUS...i just gotta say it...its the shiznit. All of my friends hardware from asus that he has had, he has absolutely loved.

i'm wanting to say it...ASUS is a win for me... unless someone wants to try to convince me otherwise
