well i was thinking about going low budget for a 32" lcd tv and since dot pitch x resolution = size; i think the dot pitch of a 32" lcd will be more bigger than that of a lcd monitor 22" having .2xx mm dot pitch.

i am asking ur opinions about the purchase of a 32 lcd tv of native res 1366x768(of unknown dot pitch). comp this decision w/ a 23/22 inch monitor@1680. i have an ultra.

i am really confused about the dot pitch. what would it be for such a tv? also a plasma tv of the 37" size is out of question for gaming, right?

plasma cons imp for gaming:
big dot pitch
crappy 1024x768 res

plasma pros imp for gaming:
darker blacks
great response time
bigger size for less than the lcd(more than 1/3 price less, right?)

so the big dot pitch oof plasma will kick it out of the game. Opinions please. its plasma 37 vs lcd tv 32 lcd monitor 23 for gaming.

1680x1050 = 1,746,000 pixels
1366x768 = 1,049,088 pixels

1,746,000 pixels / 22" = 79,364 pixels per inch
1,049,088 pixels / 32" = 32,748 pixels per inch

The 22" 1680x1050 display will have over twice the number of pixels per inch which means it has a way lower dotch pitch than the 32" 1366x768 display.

The lower the dot pitch the clearer the image.

One of the best LCD's i've ever seen was a Sony 40" 10-bit panel that runs 1920x1080. Extremely clear and very very nice colors.. decent response time as well.
