The ne2121z is 1/4hp and 13cc displacement. The 2134 is 3/8hp and 8.5cc displacement.

Which is more important in our uses? The higher displacement or the higher HP?

Unless you are in 50hz zone,
ne2121Z is 9.27CC
nek2134GK is 8.78cc
They look about same size, motor winding on NEK2134GK looks bit stronger (and matched to spec of gas we likely would be using).
And NEK is replacement models that came after NE so it should be better in noise/energy usage, etc.
One thing I wouldn't be so sure would be condenser you are planning to use and over all system balance.
It's hard to say which will be better (more appropirate would be NEK due to it's designation as 404/507 compressor to begin with, etc)

where did you get a spec for the 2121z? i was told it was 13cc

edit, ye im in 50hz

ne2121z got 13,6cc...i can guarantee;)

Hmmm... :)
Displacement 9.27 cm^3.
I presume it is CSIR model most liekly that would have LRA of 12.6A... (maybe this is where confusion happened?)
You sure Dimas? :)

LOL... this page shows the ne2134gk as 12.12cc, 1/3hp :)

So... was he referring to NE2134GK or NEK2134GK? Now I am getting confused :)

Sorry maybei should clarify, I mean the NEK2134GK Not the NE.

As for the ne2121z. 9.27cc apparently. Although im sure i have also confirmed it as 13.6cc as per Andrea's post

Kind of hard to argue against manufacturer's spec sheet. 13.6cc 1/4 hp just doesn't make much sense to me to be quite honest with you.
(I do love that idea though, chances are they will have to reduce compression ratio possible or increase motor winding and making it around 1/3 to 1/2hp :P)

I tried googling it a few times, on a seperate russian website it displayed the comp as 9.27 also, i couldnt read any of what the columns meant, but they matched up with you post jinu.

So... back to topic

The NEK2134GK is definately 3/8HP 8.5cc
The NE2121z is either 9.27 or 13.6cc and deffo 1/4HP

If the ne2121z is 13.6cc is it worth getting over the nek2134gk?

If the ne2121z is in fact 9.27cc, is it worth getting over the nek2134gk?

Hard to say... but let's put it this way, I've yet to see 1/4 hp with that kind of displacement. Even NL11F is only 11cc :P It would be much better compressor than NL11F if it was and had compression ratio matching to it.
Basically they look about same to me (hard to compare 134a to 404a/507a compressors really).
Basically NE2121z 9.27cc has smaller motor windings, which should reduce power consumption and heat dump into the system in general. However, since NEK denomniation are used for much more energy efficient compressor line, the consumption and heat dump might be actually lower in NEK despite being rated for higher which makes it anyone's guess until someone has played with both.
Advantages to NEK right now resides in the fact it was made for 404a/r507.... nothing more which won't matter much with proper tuning of not really pushing high side too much on ne2121z.... Just so many variables involved.

Basically 13.6cc NE2121z (if such exists) would be better choice if it can handle the compression ratio and really are 1/4 hp.... (I just find it REALLY hard to believe. I am pretty sure Dimas just is mistaken or have wrong spec from somewhere).

If you had chance to look around compressor catalogs from major companies, you will find anything around that displacement categorized anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 hp range.

I just found a russian website that suggests replacements for various compressors and gives nearest comparisons to other manufacturers.

If you scroll down to the aspera ne2121z it says its manufacturer rival compressor is the danfoss nl11f.. Dunno what to make of that

Also its compared to the Electrolux GP14CB/BB Which according to its own spec sheet, is a 3/8HP 14cc compressor.

Honestly, since comparison came up... use NL11F and forget about it :) it's very nice compressor :)

very nice and expensive too ;)

nl11f cost 90e, expensive? cheaper then aspera anyway.

Didn't realize NL11F is more expensive compressor :)
Now... let's get this straight. Dimas and I have talked on MSN. It seems to me that Dimas was mislead on specification by his vendors. He will find out monday most likely on what to figure out. No, I am not disapproving of compressor or anything here... I belive we ALL know that DIMAS is HONERABLE guy :) Probably one of most dependable person in this section.
When Dimas wakes up, we will discuss bit more in detail of what we would like to do with this one :)

Local refrigeration stores in small qtys or Pallet from factory directly. Danfoss won't talk to you for pallets though, maybe when I hit 500 a month or something lol.

good morning here guys...there's a bit of confusion over internet about this ne2121z compressor, from tomorrow i'll start investigate, first thing is to buy another nek2134gk, and compare to this ne2121z...than i'll share this test with forum mates...
