I tried searching around here for some part numbers and/or recommeded places to buy electrical components to use in Vmodding, but haven't been successful. Finding my way to Digi-key isn't hard, but figuring out what model of 500ohm variable resistor is suitable for use in the 8800GTX vmod is something that I don't want to be guessing at.

Would it be possible to get some recommendations (exact part numbers) for the variable resistors used? Am I not looking in the right places?

Thanks in advance.

Bournes is what I use for a variable resistor/clariostat. Pick the multi-turn pots. They are expensive, but offer fine control.

^ this is where I'm gonna buy for my GTS VMOD, price is a bit high but negligible in my mind.

You can also try Murata. BTW I made a typo, it is Bourns Inc. :)

digi-key is the best i reckon. if your in america, Frys electronics/radio shack, etc would be a good choice, or check your phone book, often mom n pop type electronics stores have a large selection of these things.

I had no luck around here :( radioshack sells a few switches, caps & fixed resistors but that's it. (tried mall stores and big standalones) Fry's isn't around here either :( .

Digi-key is a good place though, just wanted to link him somewhere so he could see a specific one rather than sift through their inventory (which is a bit of a daunting task).
