I'm curious as to if it's possible finding a 42"+ (I like 50" :D ) Plasma TV for UNDER $1000 shipped
Reputable brand, and New
I've been looking at eBay and have found a few at most..
Am I kidding myself here?
Thanks guys  Let's give it up for XS

I just got my 42" plasma for under $700 as a floor model @ Sears. It is a Phillips w/ ambilight For under 1k I don't see you getting a 1080p but mime is just the 720 and the xbox360 looks sweet on it. Hope that helps

It's not plasma but it's a solid set for the price.

Awesome guys thanks for the Replys; Should I be looking at LCD as well? I've read everywhere 42"+ to 50" you want to be looking at Plasmas instead
I mean, i could be looking at Refurbished one's for around the same price and 50" from a Reputable site like TigerDirect.com or NewEgg.com but how much of a risk am I taking?

You are taking a HUGE risk buying something that expensive from a person who has no feedback. Most likely he will just try and scam you. I would buy a TV from Tiger or newegg any day overa guy with no feedback on ebay.

Very true, I'm no longer looking at those. But you'd agree safe buying a Refurbished from a reputable site? I mean, what could possibly be wrong with it (Burn in?)
Have you looked at the 47" westinghouse? Ive seen prices on ebay for about $1100.00 shipped.
Works great as a computer monitor too.:)

Cool guys Thanks
$1100 is out of my price range, wish I could spend that much..
Well, i've stopped looking at TV's on eBay from people with NO bidding record not messing with that
Next, i'm looking at a New In Box Panasonic 50" Plasma for close to $800 (13 hours left) that I will have to go ahead and SKIP the freight $190+ shipping and travel 5 1/2 hours to Johnstown, PA and pick it up
Worth it? I mean, I don't mind driving and my dad pays for my gas because of School
Sound reasonable?

x2
i'll only buy from someone on ebay if they have a couple thousands sales and a 99% positive feedback score

Well, this 50" Plasma New In Box went to over $900 and im really hesitating now spending that much but i'm really sketched out on these people bidding on these TVs not just mine but others
There names are N***H or R***C, with very little to none Reputation. I'm thinking its other fake accounts upping the bids to raise the price? Same thing is going on for alot of similar items this Person is selling (Over 6k Rep, 99%)
What the hell are those?

No all bidders will be shown that way from now on since its ebay's new policy.
Basically it protect's the identity of the buyer. If somebody has more then 100 feedback and has a good seller reputation then you should not worry.

General rule is if you're in a bright room=LCD, dark room=Plasma. The $1100 Panasonic 42'' HDTVs are a great deal. For under $1000 shippied i think you'll have to go LCD.

Sony SXRD sets are very nice. They're not quite under $1000 but they're getting close. Check out http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:kds-50a2000:dg_ggldf&kw=kds-50a2000&lp=8198552921665092999&productId=8198552921665092999 - but shipping would probably be another $100.

Well i've decided not to mess around with eBay and all the luggage that comes with it
I found a 46" Samsung DLP Projection for $850, Model SAM HLT4675S.
720p (1280 x 720) resolution
NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners
Widescreen aspect (16:9) 2500:1 contrast ratio
2 HDMI inputs
Cinema Smooth engine
I've read the picture isn't so good on regular stations but i'm not worried I watch alot of movies and work the XBOX so i don't watch alot of basic TV.
Sound alright? I've got External 5.1 Speakers so no need for those or any great sound from the TV

Why use eBay when you can get a warranty?
