Ever seen this?

I was watching a dvd and this error popped up:

What could have caused it?

god thats like the sasser worm or some thing old it's just running the shutdown -c "comment" command and that shuts down your machine
windows update should made you immine to that a good while ago

can happen if you kill the wrong instance of svchost.exe

i got something to that effect in vista when i updated windows then didnt restart then update with the next weeks and it got mad at me and did that instead of installing

if so something indeed is messed up.

try system restore/update rollback/reinstall update

what do u mean somehting is wrong its to the same effect of the rood saying shutdown -n on unix or linux its nothing that will kill u


just type into ur command console "shutdown /g /t 5" that should bring that up with a 5 second countdown

it's wrong if it happens without the user doing it ?!

and to damage vista rpc is kinda hard so........something is wrong.

if it happens again try shudown /a in cmd to stop it and see if you can figure it out

it also happens if you have forgotten to activate your windows. ive had it pop up in the past from not activating windows.
