:welcome:

My old reliable computer had a powersupply problem so I replaced it with an new powersupply but I'm still getting this odd problem.

If I shut-off the computer and uplug or turn the switch off, the computer will boot into bios at factory default setting indicating the following:

Since you use a new cpu, the system boots up @ the slowest CPU speed to make sure the system can enter setup menu...

It's the Athlon xp2200 set at factory defaults including vcore settings - not overclocked:

I ran memory test = passed
I ran harddrive test = passed
I installed a new 2032 3V battery as well

go bios and just upload optimized defaults, should solve it i think

Sometimes just reseating the CPU in the socket helps too.

other than the fact that i run phase, i definitely keep my system running 24/7 for the same reason

it's not an unusual problem for systems to due such weird things when a part is changed out

Yes, I've tried optimized defaults. I was so sure that replacing the RTC battery would of did the trick but it didn't. When the system is up it's completley stable otherwise...weird. Not sure how reseating the cpu would help with these old multi pin cpu's but I did check it, cleaned it and replaced the thermal compound.

Did you make sure the battery you replaced the old one with is good. The new one could be a dead one.
