CoD 4 - Spectre Gunship Mission

Man that was some fun stuff. The could make CoD 5 - Spectre Gunship and I'd be all over it. The only problem I had with it was starring at the screen in a dark room. My eyeballs needed a break from all that.

I'll give this game one thing there is never a dull moment so far.

This game is pretty damn cool. Here are a few screens of the Chernobyl level. It's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. but prettier and your freaking gun doesn't break after firing off 4 clips.

Haven't got that far yet. I always play the SP campaign before I jump into the MP part of the game. It helps me to get acclimated with the controls before I play against subjectively smarter AI.

I have a video, maybe 170MB, of a AC130 doing a little terrorist hunting from 10,000 ft..
Amazing to watch the accuracy of a 6 barrelled 20mm fired single shot at a running human from a moving plane at almost 2 miles..
Do you have any idea what happens to a human being center shot with a 20mm API round?

His unit was tasked with taking a hill that the NVA dug out and had mounted a gun on rails. Well any air strikes would only do superficial damage, the NVA would just clear the rubble and go back to doing their thing. Eventually they made a call to the USS Missouri parked off shore... The Missouri never took credit for taking out the gun, just the top 200+ feet of that hill.

Lol. You should try looking through a real thermal sight for hours at a time. I was a tanker in the Army, and sometimes you would have to stare through the Gunner's Primary Sight (only 1 eye at a time) for hours and hours.

That is one of the weirdest sensations - taking your eye off the bright thermal sight and looking into the darkness of the tank while one eye had been shut the whole time. You feel dizzy from it.....................

COD4 is simply a great game, and this is one of my favorite levels. Thanks for sharing your screen shots with us man.

I commend you and thank you for your service to our nation. If I see a soldier in uniform I make it a habit to personally thank them for what they are doing. I don't care if you agree with the war or not you shouldn't take it out on the people fighting.

Thanks man. I never actually went to Iraq. I got out in Feb 2004, during the war, but before the manpower crunch. I so thought they were going to involuntarily extend me like they do others, but I got out. It crossed my mind to reup, but naahh.

One never wishes for war, but I am curious how I would perform in duress, and I do feel bad as I am a seasoned soldier (Armor - M1A1 tanks - 19 Kilo baby!), and there are so many green soldiers there. Sometimes I feel that an 8 year vet like me should be taking the place of a snot-nosed 18 year old Private that is a danger to himself and his comrades (in many cases as there are some outstanding Privates). But here is to the vets serving over there.
