This thread will show you how to properly vMod an NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX graphics card. This guide will also show you examples of how your graphics card should look once you have completed these modifications. Seeing as how all of us here at XtremeSystems are perfectionists, I have put a great amount of time into these modifications to ensure that they are of the highest quality.

Before you begin you will need a few parts. Most, if not all, of these parts can be found at your local Radio Shack.

Soldering Iron
1k Ohm Variable Resistor
10k Ohm Variable Resistor
Standard Rosin-Core .032" Solder

You will most likely find yourself surrounded by countless different soldering irons, most of which are complete crap, but there is one in particular you should be looking for. My preference is the butane fueled soldering irons due to their ease-of-use and the increased dexterity they allow over a conventional soldering iron.

The next step is to find the wire which you would like to use in your modifications and cut it to size and strip the insulation from each end. Once the insulation has been stripped, proceed to place a small amount of solder on each end of stripped wire. Once you have completed preparing the wires, find your soldering points and carefully solder the wires to the card making sure not to let the solder touch anything but its intended target.
