best buy sells at msrp or lower so everything is set they wont jack the price up when demand skyrockets, but they also dont drop price after things are discontinued so they get some strange prices on older computer stuff

This is usual of Bestbuy. Remember when the X2900XT first came out? How they were selling it for $100 less than everyone else? Now, it is higher than everyone elses.

Just trying to lure more buyers, and surge demand.
