As per thread title currently using Vista Premium 32Bit and notice 500-700mb usage of memory out of my 2GB without doing anything... just in idle mem consumption is way too high!

Could anyone help me get memory/performence better?, i.e what processes could i do away with any how i get them off i.e processes and services 50+ of them running in idle!!

I will be getting 4GB in the future along with 64Bit verson as 32Bit only uses 3.25GB max...

Any ideas guys

Its only cached memory meant to make apps load faster. The moment something needs that memory, its instantly purged. Its not a big deal

I agree. I have 65 processes running right now with 40% of my 4GB in use and I can open 10 apps in rapid succession and not feel a performance hit. Vista controls the memory far better than XP and 64-Bit Vista is even better. I always found that disabling services for anything except benchmarking does nothing but hurt general PC performance.

Perhaps im not giving good enough reasons to qualify for help

Say i bench 3dmark06...

I want to minimise the performence gap between Vista and Win XP

Just wondered perhaps which process's i need to get rid and how?
