hey guys whats up? got a couple of questions im about to get the q6600 with the asus p5k-e mobo and was wondering what heatsinks yall use for those that have the q6600 or recommend? i plan on overclocking to 3.0 at minimum and up to 3.4 at max unless i can get it to 3.6 w/o temps going to high.

Put a ThermalRight Ultra-120 eXtreme on one, runs like a charm with a Yate Loon fan on.
Highly recommended, but any ThermalRight Sink will do nicely.

I wouldn't go below an Ultra-120 for 3.6GHz. It's what I have now and it still isn't Prime95 stable, temps reach 70c and produce errors after about 10 minutes. So I'm going to lap the base till it's completely flat.

True, but any newer TR cpu cooler should put a Q6600 to 3.0, given the rest of your rig ain't low end :)

IFX-14 has served my Q6600 B3 well to 1.56v.
