Mac OS on standard PC hardware

I would like to buy a PC built around a Core 2 Quad on an X38 mobo with a GeForce 8800 GT video card and try to install Mac OS X 10.5 on it. Does anyone of you already know anything about which mobos not to buy because of SATA/IDE incompatibility? Is the 8800 GT a strict no-no for Leopard? Are there any other hardware issues I should be aware of?

ur better off getting open bsd

but if u want lepord nvidia dont put out drivers for nvidia other than what has an apple id code on teh card so it will take some twaeking but u should be fine with the new patch to install it on non mac mb

I believe there was a Wiki with a list of confirmed OSX-compatible and not-compatible hardware... You could try to find it and see if there is anything there.
