does snyone know the cost of thin sheetmetal good for cutting stuff out of with an oxy-acetylene torch? im gonna start making stuff for people but dont know what kind of metal would be best or what the cost would be

you will need to get it local (shipping would probably tripple price). price will depend on how much you buy. here is my suggestion, go to a small mom and pop type fab shop or steel supplier and talk with them, sometimes they will have plenty of "drops" ...basically remnants that they will let you get for scrap price. I know our shop would. Once they see you a few times they will probably loosen up and prices will drop. (we are located outside of town), lots of farmers stop in to see if we have a small peice here and there for their repairs, we normally just give it to them.

depends on how thing or thick, or the pattern, etc. stainless, regular, aluminum, coper, etc. all depends on what you want, but basically, it's pretty expensive.

anything that cuts easily with an oxy acetelene torch will work...i used some kind of steel for mine dunno what type..anyone know what aprox prices of new sheets are. Smaller sheets that is,

i got a 4x8 sheet of steel for like .... 120 bucks i think it was ... 1/8th inch thick..... 2 years ago.

same thing now is probably about a 130-140

expensive imho
